My name is Jared Clay, and this is my story.
In September of 2020 I was diagnosed with stage 1 testicular cancer. It was a surprise, as these things usually are. After having surgery I had hoped that I could simply put this behind me and move on with my life.. until the medical bills started coming in. Between blood work, dr appointments, and PET/CT scans, the bills started adding up quickly. Currently I have over $10,000 in unpaid bills, but that isn’t the end. On May 6 I learned that my cancer had spread to the lymph nodes in my back. Since the type of cancer that I have is not treatable with chemotherapy or radiation, this means that I will require surgery again. The total cost of this surgery isn’t known yet, but my expected cost is around $7000, as well as 4-6 weeks of lost income.
Which brings me to this GoFundMe. Any money you donate will either go towards my medical bills, or to help me pay bills until I can work again after my surgery in June.
