Thank you to everyone who has helped our family and made this chair lift a reality. Brian is a young Dad and husband and loves to be as independent as he can. This helps him do just that. We are forever grateful. Come by for a free ride anytime!
My name is Brian Connolly and I have Chronic progressive multiple sclerosis. The challenges my family and I have faced have shaped our life's but don't define us. I am blessed with unbelievable friends and extended family who have overwhelmingly helped me when I have needed it most during this journey. A little over a year ago I was guided to accept a job with the benefits and security I needed which also meant family separation for a time. Now they are with me again and we have moved back into the only home we have ever owned. Moving back into this home had one challenge I thought I could face: stairs. Although a struggle, for the first three weeks I was able to get up and down them...one by one. Five days ago I had a small fall and bruised my right ribs on a stair. Since then I have not successful been able to make it up the stairs due to the pain. My son and friends have helped carry me but I now realize it is not going to work without a mobility device. On her own, my mother-in-law Sharon Morgan started a campaign which included her neighbors and friends and in only a few days has raised over $2000 for a chair lift for our stairs. Thanks Mom for starting this effort and thanks to anyone who is able to continue it to see if it is possible to raise the amount needed to have a chair lift installed. If you are able to participate by donating or by sharing this story I am grateful. I love you all and Life is beautiful! Brian
