My daughter has been dealing with health issues since she was 13. But this last April she was finally diagnosed. She was diagnosed with Lupus. A horrible autoimmune disease that attacks her body for no good reason. She hasn't been able to work because of it. She's been hospitalized once a month since April. That's not counting the countless emergency room visits and all the doctor's visits with all the specialists she needs to see.

Because I am the only one able to take her to and from appointments and can be with her for her hospital stays, I have needed to take extended time off of work.  There was never any question that my place was by her side supporting her and helping her heal.
