Please open your hearts and help the Astarita family through this very difficult time.
On Tuesday, July 5, 2016, Joanne Catalano Astarita, was struck by a school bus. She was airlifted to Stonybrook trauma center, suffering multiple, life-threatening injuries. She has had to endure multiple blood transfusions, procedures and surgeries to this date. She is lucky to be alive. She has an undetermined, extensive recovery and future surgeries ahead. There is no doubt that her life has been changed forever. It is uncertain if a full recovery and use of her legs will be possible.
Joanne is a wonderful, caring mother of two, ages 15 and 18, a wife, sister and friend to many, and is also a graduate of John H. Glenn high school. Her oldest child will be starting college next month.
Funds need to be immediately available to the family due to loss of income which has created a urgent situation. Funds will be used towards medical, food, household and college expenses.
