Joe Murphys Medical

The Murphys are lifelong East Rockaway residents, members of Saint Raymonds Parish and ERHS Alumni-Joe Murphy,his wife Jackie Irwin Murphy class of '79, Ryan 2014 and Colin 2017.
     In the beginning of this year Joe, a hard working employee of the L.I.R.R began to get sick.  After many doctor visits he was diagnosed with congestive heart failure.  While tests were being performed it was found that Joe also had kidney cancer and the kidney had to be removed.  It was a dangerous operation due to his weak heart.  While recovering, his heart got weaker and his only option was an LVAD which is a mechanical heart pump.  This was also a difficult surgery.  This came with more complications and a blood clot caused damage to his remaining kidney.  Joe is in need of a heart and kidney transplant.
     Joe has no more sick or vacation days left and savings is exhausted. The medical bills that insurance hasn't covered are coming in. They are getting behind in their monthy expenses.
     The next few months without any income and fighting all the medical problems have become overwhelming.
     We as "Friends of the Murphys" ask for any assistance for the family at this difficult time.
