First off, thank you for taking time out of your day to read our GoFundMe.

This GoFundMe was started by dedicated volunteers at the Agoura Hills Animal Shelter in Agoura Hills, CA.
The Agoura Shelter has an amazing group of 100+ volunteers that give up their personal time to care for and find forever homes for their pups.
The volunteers work extremely hard, not only at the shelter but also within the community.  You can find us at pet expos, parades, dealerships, or on one of the local tv stations. Our pups are also featured regularly in the paper!
The more people who know about the shelter, the more  come in and potentially adopt!

As you can imagine, not every pup that arrives at the shelter has been treated with the love, care, and compassion that they deserve.  If they are lucky, a new collar or bandana is all it takes for someone to notice them and fall in love. Other times, much more time and care is needed.
A main component of caring for our pups is bathing. Not only to get them smelling good, but to wash away the sadness and despair some of them feel. Sometimes they are so matted they can hardly walk or are covered in ticks and fleas. Other times they have had too much fun in the play yards,  are covered in mud and in need of a  rinsing off!

The current bathing setup is a bathtub set on a wooden base with a handheld sprayer. There are several challenges with this:

1. There isn't a ramp to help the larger or elder pups into the tub
2. The water temperature flucuates constantly and is either burning or freezing
3. The side isn't tall enough to hold them in safely
4. There isn't an adequate place to loop them in to keep them from trying to jump out
5. Mold is a constant issue with the wooden base

All these things make for an anxious and stressed pup and a water logged volunteer with a sore back!

This GoFundMe hopes to raise the money to purchase a proper and professional bathing tub for our shelter pups and volunteers. 

Our shelter wouldn't be the special place it is without not only the volunteers, but also the community.
It is amazing to see the donated dog beds, blankets, carriers and toys piled up outside the door every day.
Students, who have bake sales to raise money for our animals in need of private vet care, or children who ask for dog toys and beds for their birthday so they can donate it to us. All these wonderful humans inspire us to keep saving the lives of our precious four-legged friends.
