Aloha!
Destiny has been in the hospital since the 31st of December. She is 13 years old with a whole life ahead of her. As a normal teenage girl, she was active and a straight A student who was focused with what was ahead of her, but she has fallen ill. Unfortunately, her liver is not doing her too well. She has been in Kona hospital to Kapiolani Medical Center multiple times trying to find a cure in what's happening with her and why her body is responding the way it is. She has taken numerous of tests and a biopsy, has blood taken from her hourly to check her levels, and is now at Stanford University at the Lucile Packard Childrens Hospital in California so they can prepare her for a transplant. With the biopsy they found that her body rejected a medicine called Zantac and has continually decreasing her liver function.
Her father, Kalani, has been by her side since day one while her mother, Amber, has been going back and forth trying to take care of stuff at home--along with being there for Destiny. As you all can imagine, this has taken a toll on the family, emotionally, and they don't know what's to come ahead. But with prayer, we are hoping things come up positive.
This page is to simply ask anyone if they can donate anything they can just to help Destiny's parents with the costs of travel and food and any other costs that might come up along the way. Traveling back and forth (as her mom, Amber, been doing) can be costly, along with missing work.
Thank you so much for even giving the page a time of day, and please pray for Destiny and her family while they go through this difficult time!
