As the majority of our friends and family know, Cameron Alberga was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, medullary carcinoma, grade 2 on June 15, 2016. We discovered Cameron is missing her BCRA 1 gene, which is is an important gene that suppresses certain types of cancer. This type of cancer is aggressive and invasive.  As a result of this news Cameron underwent a double mastectomy on July 14, 2016, and has been out of work since then. This procedure was followed by major reconstructive surgery of both breasts. She is currently finishing up two out of five months of Chemotherapy, and then she will need to remove of her ovaries because she is missing the BRCA 1 gene. Cameron is now in a five year treatment recovery program at Mayo Clinic.

Cami was recently married to her husband Tyler, March 25, 2016. They married and honeymooned in Hawaii with friends and family, celebrating a joyous occasion marking this new chapter in their lives.

Shortly after returning home, Cami discovered the lump in her left breast and made the appointment to have it examined. The doctors ran a battery of tests and discovered that it is malignant. This was a big fear for her, because there is a long list of women in her family who unfortunately passed away due to other types of breast cancer. 

Cami and Tyler have chosen the Mayo Clinic Hospital to help aid her with treatment and recovery. They specialize in cancer treatment and prevention and are one of the most prestigious in the country.

Cami's surgery was on July 14, 2016. She and Tyler are going to need some time away from work, which will hinder their ability to generate income. As they are focusing on Cami's recovery, they are going to need some financial support in order to pay for rent, groceries, and costs that are not covered . 

2017 update Cami Alberga will be having her final reconstruction surgery on May 9th  . Mayo was fortunate put  her on top of the list. Unfortunately she will have to take time off work and more medical bills !
