On Saturday the 25th April 2021, my family the “McDonald’s” lives came to an abrupt halt. My lovely mum was rushed into hospital after fracturing her neck when literally bending down to tie up her shoe lace.
After a day in hospital, the horrific news was delivered to my mum and the rest of us, when we were told the devastating news that cancer had returned to her body after more than 5 years free from breast cancer.
Mum is currently undergoing treatment for cancer of the spine (which is the cause of 7 fractures in and around her spine).
An operation to stabilise her spine has been performed, but unfortunately numerous tumours were also located on her spine, along with the cancer. Tragically, some of the tumours were not able to be removed as they are too close to the spinal cord.
Mum is now undergoing radiation therapy, which will attempt to shrink or eradicate the tumours, as they can’t be removed.
As you can imagine, my whole family are in total shock and despair, and to add to this horrific situation, we are down to one income, but still have the continuous ongoing daily expenses, including food, bills, mortgage and medical expenses.
I have decided to create a go-fund me page to allow anyone who would like to donate to
the fundraising, in assisting with our families financial difficulties whilst mum remains in hospital undergoing treatment.
Mum is aware that I am setting up a fundraising page, and is extremely thankful for any support people can provide.
We do not know when Mum will be home, and we love her very much, and want her to get better, and beat this cancer once again.
