Team Canada Athletes Dream
Donation protected

Hello! My name is Rylee Fortier-Turner and I am 12 years old. I am a competitive dancer with Pointe Of Grace Dance Company in Stittsville Ontario. This is me winning first place this year at Nationals in Atlantic City. I have always had a passion for dance and it has been a major part of my life since I was three years old. Dance gives me a feeling that I know no other sport can do. It is a way for me to express my feelings, but also gives me so much more.
This year, I was chosen for a spot on Team Canada to compete internationally at the World Dance Championships in Austria and Austria is a long ways away. Will you help support me as I take the world stage to represent Canada? I am asking you to support me with a $150 donation to help get me to Austria, although any amount will gladly be accepted and appreciated.
Please watch my personal message in the attached video.
Making it to Team Canada is an immense honor but it has not been an easy road. I spend on average 35 hours a week training. I am a dedicated and hardworking athlete and student but that is not enough. I need your help. My chance to stand on a podium when they raise the Canada flag comes with the cost of travel, accommodation, coaches, costumes and choreography. There is no government funding and no national sponsor. Each athlete is on their own. I need your help to get me there. Please support this campaign and help me get to Austria.
It has always been a dream of mine to pursue my life as a dancer. Being able to start this dream early is the opportunity of a lifetime. Not everybody gets emails saying that they were chosen out of many people to represent Canada. Being part of Team Canada would be absolutely amazing, and I would be blessed to be able to go. Being able to go costs a lot at the same time. I would do anything to be able to go to Austria for this opportunity. Dancing is my passion, it is the only thing I love to do, therefore this is why I spend so much of my time doing it. It is a decision of mine to spend 90% of my life dancing, I’m not being forced to, or being pressured to, it is what I do and I love doing it.
I’ve traveled before, but never for an experience like this. Hip Hop has always been my favourite style of dance. It’s a way to express my sassiness, release energy and be creative. Dance is where I have made the majority of my friends, and with the experience I have been offered this year, I can only hope to make more from around the world.
Please help me get there.
Thank you for your support!
