My Marine Son's Medical Care

Donation protected
I thought the hardest part of being Mike's Mom would be over when he returned from Active Duty serving as a United States Marine, that was until last week.......
So approx 1pm on the 29th I received "The Call", you know the one EVERY parent hopes to never recieve........

I did my best to focus on what I was hearing as the nurse attending to my son was trying to tell me,  It started something like this, Your son was in an accident, he was brought here (Penn Presbyterian Trauma unit ) approx 4am this morning.  He is stable, has lost a lot of blood, has severe damage to his left arm and had almost no pulse when he arrived. He had surgery as soon as he was brought in and something about wether or not his arm was still "viable" at that point my mind was racing.

Below are a few FB updates I had posted during the last few days, as of today we have been in the truama unit for 8 days and he has just come back from his 4th surgery (this one on his left ankle and foot). Unfortunatly surgery number 3 was to amputate his left arm just below the elbow. I know it sounds horrible, but considering all he has been through, we are all very thankful.

Michael's medical bills are already racking up and expect to continue for a min of the next year.

We are looking to raise funds to pay his medical bills already incurred and the ones to come. Not to mention all the other expenses that will come in addition.
So these were a few posts that describe the accident:

Are you that guy? Are you the guy that bobs in and out of traffic to get one car length ahead? Are you that guy that speeds up the the next bumper just to hit your breaks? You know, that guy we all see driving erratically that makes everyone around him think," I need to stay away from that car, he is gunna cause an accident that he probably won't even be in." OR the guy that cuts across from the left 2 lanes of traffic to make an exit at the last minute, cutting off other drivers and never even caring about the devastation you leave behind? As I sit here on day 6 after "that guy" did it again, watching my son go through more than any human should, I just ask, please do not be that guy, if you are, then I pray you pause and consider to never be that guy again.

"So we just found out that a woman passing by Mike's truck right after the accident, called it in to 911, police do not have her info, then there was a man who stopped to help. If anyone knows or can find out who these 2 people (unrelated to each other) are we would love to thank them. This woman very likely saved my son's life." This accident occurred June 29th at 3:56am on 76W mile marker 343.6. If you know of someone who saw the accident, called 911, or stopped to help please let us know so that we can thank some of the bystanders who may have helped to save a life.
