Support Timothy (TW) in his battle against cancer

As a young man Timothy White Barber (who we all know as TW)  found out his mother was batting with cervical cancer . He was a child and had to watch his mother get so sick , he watched his mom fight and he was by her side her whole fight . Timothy was the best son she could of asked for . At such a young age Timothy made sure his mother did not go through her fight alone . 

But unfortunately Timothy lost his mom to cervical cancer when he was only 19 years old , she was 43 . 

Timothy was living the best life he could , being the best husband, dad , son , uncle, cousin and friend that he could be . 

But then in February of 2019 Timothy started not to feel well. One day he just started having excruciating pain in his back and stomach , at this point he thought it was the hernia that he previously had problems with so he started going for tests . Timothy went for over 10 different tests , including mris , X-rays and then had to eat radiation . Finally in August 2019, Dr.Aaron B Hofman, the hernia surgeon sent Timothy for a cat scan. 

Timothy left and went on with his day , went home to his wife , talked to his children , everything was still fine 

Until later that day,

That afternoon the phone rang , it was Dr.Hoffman 

He had to inform Timothy that there was “mass on his large intestine .”

Time froze , In one moment , one sentence , one cat scan , his whole life changed 

September of 2019 a biopsy was done on the mass , it was a tumor , it was “stage 3 colon cancer “ 

At only 38 years old , his whole life came tumbing down . At only 38 years old he had to hear the word everyone fears “cancer” but in 38 years we learned that Timothy is a fighter and he will fight this .. 

On October 14,2019 Timothy went into surgery to remove the tumor and his colon . He was in the hospital for 6 days and went home with hopes to start treatment and start recovering. 4 days later he was back in the hospital for emergency surgery. Timothy now had to have a ileostomy bag inserted . However as much pain as Timothy was going through he was still just grateful to be alive . 

He was grateful to still have all the love around him because if he would have waited even a couple more hours to go to the hospital to make sure he was okay he would probably have lost his fight right there 

Timothy had the ileostomy bag on from November of 2019 until December of 2020 . It was the worst time of his life . He had to live every day for over 1 year with a bag hanging out of his side , had to learn to change it on his own , take the right medications , he had to start explaining to family and friends what was going on , why he had a bag hanging from the side of him with his bowels inside , he had to explain to his father , siblings ,children , nieces , nephews cousins that he was that 1 In 20 people that had to hear those 3 bad words “you have cancer “ but he still was strong .. he  was so strong .. he made sure he reassured all of us that “ HE IS A FIGHTER “ and this is “NOT KNOCKING THAT KING DOWN “ 

In February 2020 Timothy start IV CHEMO . He went to every appointment , he took his medicines , he fought, and guess what? 

HE KICKED CANCERS ASS 

TIMOTHY RANG THE BELL .

He was in REMISSION 

Timothy was finally able to breathe , he was able to go on with his life . He didn’t have to fight CANCER ANYMORE .. he could finally eat what he wanted , finally walk around without a bag , finally hug his family the right way , and finally try to go on with his life after such a huge battle 

But it only lasted so long 

It only lasted 7 months 

7 months of freedom 

7 months without cancer 

7 months of whatever we call normal 

Only 7 months before cancer came back and came back HARD. 

The fight now has to start all over , the battle just completely restarted , he has to fight this crazy scary battle again 

At this point the main thing keeping Timothy going is the love from his family and friends . But of course not everyone will stay by your side . Sometimes the love isn’t real and the vows are fake . Sometimes you learn who you have by your side once you’re sick . Once Timothy found out his cancer was back his wife left him, just abandoned him at his absolute worst time . 

Timothy went from thinking he beat one of the hardest fights of all time to finding out it came right back to try and bring him down and being abandoned in the blink of an eye . His life turned upside down all over again but worse . Now he lost the love he thought he found. 

On Monday, April 5, 2021 the day after Easter, Timothy’s pain started to increase again. He was in so much pain again and couldn’t take it anymore so he was rushed to the hospital. Timothys gallbladder has now inflamed. Right away the doctors tried a procedure that was unsuccessful and the pain Timothy was feeling was just getting worse. The doctors then inserted a bag inside of Timothy to drain the gallbladder. It worked, well sorta it drained it just enough to be able to go home and try to continue his cancer treatment. “ It stabilized him.” About a week went by before Timothy started feeling that same pain he was feeling a week ago and had to get rushed right back to the hospital. His gallbladder inflamed AGAIN and the doctors were going to retry the procedure, they tried, again unsuccessful. His gallbladder is too inflamed and the masses on his Kidney are too large to be able to perform a successful procedure. So again they try to insert the bag into his gallbladder to drain but this time failed. Timothy now had to wait two more days to try the procedure again, two more days of excruciating pain and there was absolutely nothing anyone can do to relieve his pain. Finally, May 10, 2021 The doctors attempted to insert the bag again, they succeeded, his gallbladder is draining the only thing we can do now is pray, pray that it drains enough, pray that we can stop his pain, pray that we can get him better and stabilized so he can start his cancer treatment , pray that he can get well enough to spend time with his family !! 

Timothy has so much love and support from his family and we love him so much !! And I know I can speak for all of the Whites , Barbers , Joyners and everyone who has ever had the blessing of having this amazing heroic man in their life, I can say we all got you !! Timothy is my uncle , the strongest  man I know !!

And I can say is my uncle is my Superman and will continue to fight until he can’t no more
