Hello friends and family,
Bare with me as I get the story out.
Unfortunately on May 8th, 2021 a tragic event in Huntington Beach occurred in the home of me and my family. I will not be stating the names of any family members for recovery reasons.
On this day at 12:30PM my mother was preparing meat and my 14 year old brother was playing his PS4 while the younger boys were in the house playing and my sister was in the restroom and I was sleeping. Thank god to the quick reactions of my 14 year old brother and saving 3 lives that day.
My mother who has 5 kid’s works a full time job 5-6 days a week at a fast-food restaurant and had her day off 5/8/21 to celebrate my 14 year old brothers birthday. When the fire occurred all I remember is waking up from yells and screaming of my family “Wake (Big Brother) Up!! Wake (Big Brother) Up!!” “Wheres (little brother)!!, (little brother) was here!!”. As soon as I heard that I knew something bad was happening and I jumped up out of my bed to see my younger siblings and mother trying to show me whats happening, and when I ran into the kitchen I just looked at the stove and saw a 6ft tall blazing torch it looked so hot it started to turn into a liquid I don’t know if I was imagining things but I knew it was ready to ruin our lives for good. I had nothing but shorts on and I desperately ran back to my room to grab my computer but struggled on a cord for only a few seconds and I just ran knowing everything I have is about to be turned into dust... I then sprint out my room looking everywhere to make sure everyone is out and when I was ready to escape to safety I just see everyone crying and yelling desperately and my little brother ran back in to try and get his PS4 but I was pulling on him and was yelling at him to get out. After I ran to my grandmas house (she lives next door) I started yelling “Everyone get out! The house is on fire!” and we all ran down to safety. I then look up and see my front door looks like the gates of hell. Everything on my patio was turned into dust in a matter of seconds I had plants I have been growing for months gone like that. The fire was like a jet engine coming right out our front windows. I then see my grandma is still stuck with no way to escape because the blazing fire is blocking the stairs and with the help of 2 in real life heroes I just see some guy come out of his car (as im sitting there hopeless looking at our home turn into ash) he just sprints and grabs a fire extinguisher and tries to run inside but burns himself as the fire just gets bigger and bigger and he then ran to my grandma to help her. Thanks to the fireman that was quick enough to come with the ladder he got her out of there before the fire started burning her unit. Thanks to everyones quick reactions we are all safe even the pets. A special thanks to my 14 year old brother who thought about me while my mother was in shock, he was smart enough to wake me up before it was to late and grab my little brother who was hiding in my moms room... this helped us in many ways because we did not inhale to much smoke or get any burns just cuts and minor bruises. Better your brothers life’s than materialistic objects.
We lost everything in our home. Only a handful of items were saved, we ask for any and all support you can offer during these times. Unfortunately we did not have renters insurance (please don’t question) so everything we worked for is gone.
This event may not have affected us physically but mentally it has scarred us. My younger siblings are scared if anything will explode near them now and the oldest one out of them saying that is only 6. While me and my mom on the other hand feel sensitive to the heat now. Me and my family have gone through MANY tragic events over the years but this one is the worse of them all... we do good in society, we are a nice genuine family, we care for others, work hard. it is very upsetting that we have been struck by this. My mother rarely gets to spend time with us because of her schedule and since I was laid off a couple months ago I had the responsibility to watch the kids while shes gone.
Thank you for your prayers and condolences
I will update you on the details as they come...
Thank you All
PS this was the day before mothers day... I was suppose to take my grandma and mom out and get them gifts but it just shows life can change in a flash.
