Breast Cancer Expenses for Carolyn Romero-Mireles
Donation protected
Hi everyone, I am fundraising for my younger sister Carolyn Romero-Mireles. After finding a lump on her left breast weeks before, on April 15th, 2021, she was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (Stage 2/3, grade 2). As you can imagine the news is devastating to the family especially Carolyn. She is currently undergoing more testing (blood work, MRI, etc).
Unfortunately, Carolyn works full-time but has Kaiser Health insurance. As many people know Kaiser is great insurance for preventive care but for illnesses not so great. What does that mean for her? Well, copayments and deductibles that are extremely high. She has already had to cancel a test because she couldn’t afford to pay the $600 deductible.
I am writing this today in hopes that you can help with some of the medical expenses. Last week, the oncologist told her that she would start chemotherapy in two weeks. So, everything is happening so fast as they want to get it under control before it spreads.
My parents (Jesus & Francisca) and I (Liz) would appreciate any help. I am currently looking at other options too as many of you know that I work at Loma Linda University Medical Center and they have an amazing Cancer Center. We also ask that you keep Carolyn in your prayers. She is definitely a fighter and we are all hoping for the best!
Thank you for taking the time to read this post and consider donating to this fundraiser. I would also appreciate if you wouldn’t mind sharing this post so that others may donate as well.
With Love,
Liz Romero
