As most of you are aware, our close friend and awesome K.J., Trish McKibbin, has been battling her share of medical issues recently. (like a trooper, I might add) After having an 18.5 lb Ovarian Cyst removed 2 weeks ago and being given the "all clear" from her doctors, she got the bad news she wasn't expecting today. They found Stage 1 Cancer in her other ovary.  The decision has been made to have a 2nd surgery this Monday to do a complete hysterectomy, followed by a possible round of chemo.
Catching it this early should be a blessing. Yet, it will still take its toll on her with mounting medical bills.  Although insured, her out of pocket expenses will be quite high, especially not working for as long as she hasn't. I doubt the goal I've set will cover it but it should be the shot in the arm (medical pun intended) she needs to help her get back on her feet once she is able to.
When I approached her with this idea to assist her financially, she flat out refused. (Typical Trish) It took some convincing on my part.
So here we are. Her 2nd surgery is set for this Monday. 7/11/16. No info as to how long her down time will be. But the gal who works two jobs won't be working for a while.  She has posted about her ordeal on her own Facebook Page. Please read it: https://www.facebook.com/trish.mckibbin
