I’m not really sure how to start this because I can’t believe I’m in this position.
My name is Tamij Whittington and for the last two weeks I have been living out of Private room of Airbnb’s, Hotels and most recently a storage unit.
Some may ask how I got in this predicament, which is a touchy subject but to be honest sometimes family doesn’t agree with you’re life style and it ends in a result of children being kicked out and left to figure things out on there own.
There are many people in position and unfortunately I am one of many. I have reached out to different shelters and hospitals. As of May 8th I was caught sleeping in my storage unit and a police report was made and I was escorted out empty handed. I’ve been sadly stealing from WAWA and 7-Eleven for meals (more so snacks) or like last night not eating at al. just to get through the next cpl days.
As of now i have nowhere to stay and literally walking around in the on and off rain.
I have reached out to family members for cash and some to even to visit for a cpl days or a month and none has given a response or say yes and the day of they tend to go ghosts. I’ve been washing in a Marshall’s at the end of the road and charging my phone in nearby bathroom which will be off in a cpl days due to family members disconnecting me from they’re line.
Some may ask why haven’t I gone to a shelter ?
that’s one of my biggest fears. I was sexually assaulted from a employee before and I allowed it because I needed somewhere to stay.
Therefore being in environments surrounded by men fills me up with anxiety and depression because I feel my past can become my present and it seems that way right now.
I’m loosing faith starting question myself.
is this really the life I want to live ?
There have been older men suggesting I stay with them and expecting sex in return for shelter and food.
I feel I’m running out of options and this is my last resort.
I stayed in a laundry mat for 5 hours. Sitting on the floor thinking what to do next. Luckily a friend sent funds which helped me stay at a hotel for 2 nights. Which was now 3 days
Please help if you can.
