Beloved Van Burned by Arsonist

Judy and Bruce (my aunt and uncle). You may recognize them. They are long time Yukoners and have been fixtures in the community for years. Judy has volunteered in many capacities, including with Hospice Yukon for years, being there to support many Yukoners in their time of need. Bruce is a common sight at music festivals, theatre events and everything in between. Armed with his camera he donates his time and talent snapping thousands of photos.
They both recently retired and had just begun a cross Canada adventure in their classic 1990 VW Westfalia. The gem of a vehicle had recently been purchased by the couple and a much deserved holiday was planned.
Then tragedy struck. In the early morning of July 6 as they slept on the tranquil Shack Island, near Nanaimo BC an arsonist struck. Its target? Their beloved van and the vehicles of 3 others. Helpless, they watched as their VW, packed full with four months of belongings, burned to the ground...as did their holiday plans. Now they are in a bind. While they have insurance it is not known how much of their van and belongings will be covered. They are vehicless as they await what comes next.
These people are awesome, caring individuals and they deserve better. They would never ask for it but many have come forward wanting to help. That's so kind. If you can help get these guys back on the road for their much deserved holiday they would be forever grateful.
