Help bring Mr Brissett back to the UK

Donation protected
Mr Coral Brissett, a British Armed Forces Veteran (known as Jimmy aka BEAR) to name a few... The Brissett family are launching an appeal to help raise £100,000+ for the repatriation of Mr Brissett back to the UK from Jamaica after a life changing accident.

On Saturday 23rd March 2024 in Trelawny, Jamaica, Dad fell headfirst into an open trench on the roadside outside the gate leading to his home. The excavation work was being carried out by Trelawny Parish council currently working on the main road. The trench is approximately 7/8 ft in length and very deep. It is understood Dad attended the Parish Council regularly over the last 18 months, with his last visit 2 weeks ago warning them of the dangers relating to the work being undertaken, however, the work continued regardless of the concerns raised by him.

As a result of this unforeseen and unfortunate incident, Dad is now subject to potentially life changing injuries. He was transported to Falmouth Hospital where he received a CT scan that showed he had broken his neck in 2 places, requiring respiratory intervention and has no feeling below his waist. He was transferred to Montego Bay, Hospital on Monday 25th March 2024 where he has been stabilised and expecting imminent surgery requiring upfront payment.

The diagnosis is potentially lifechanging and we are attempting to meet his immediate medical costs, unfortunately the family is small, and we do not have the extensive funds required to meet the escalating medical demands which would be necessary for Dad's continued care in Jamaica.

Whilst we appreciate the work of the Montego Bay Hospital, we, the family are reaching out to those who are willing to contribute to the reparation of him back to the UK. We have explored many sources and have been informed the cost range between £100,000.00 - £200,000.00, as he requires an air ambulance, respiratory equipment and a medical team that would travel with him from Montego Bay to Queen’s Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham.

Any contributions no matter how small will make a meaningful difference in helping the Brissett Family bring Dad home to continue his medical journey; and have the support of loved ones, family and friends.

Whilst Dad is fighting, we his children are fighting with him - “Where there is life, there is hope”
