Dear family and friends,
Our family was just recently affected by the unexpected loss of our dear mother and mother-in-law Maureen. She was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and was taken from us only about a month later. Prior to her passing, my in laws were struggling to make ends meet, and barely making it. Since she has been gone, it has gotten much worse. My father in law has just found out that he is on the verge of losing his home. When you have been married to the love of your life for 40+ years and then that person is taken from you in what seems like the blink of an eye, you can barely make it through a day walking around your home without missing her. And then to find out that you are going to lose the home you built with her and the memories that this home holds, which is all you have left of her, is completely devastating. He hasn't even had time to grieve and he has already received this notice about his home, not to mention the medical bills that have "just begun" to pour in. If we, as his son and daughter- in-law, were in any position to help him financially, I would not be reaching out to family and friends for help like this.
My mother-in-law was a beautiful woman. She never put herself first. In fact, she never worried about herself at all. When she was diagnosed with aggressive melanoma a month before she passed, doctors told us that she had been battling this for awhile. The amount of pain she most have dealt with on a daily basis is immeasurable. She never wanted anyone to worry about her. She was a protector. All she ever wanted was to be with her family, most importantly her grandson , my little boy. I am grateful for the almost 3 years he had her in his life and for all that she taught him. It breaks my heart that she is not here with him anymore. Tomorrow would have been her 75th birthday. So in honor of her, the only thing I feel I can do for her now is protect my father-in-law like she would if she were here. So if you have read about our family and feel that you are in any position to help, even just alittle, we would be forever grateful. And if you are not, we completely understand and just ask that you keep our father and father-in-law Al in your prayers. Thank you.
