Italian Summer Opera Program

Hello everyone!

I have a truly wonderful opportunity this summer with an exceptional program in Rome, Italy. I have been offered the roles of 2nd Lady in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte, Mercedes in Bizet's Carmen, and Meg Page in Verdi's Falstaff with the Rome Festival Opera. (website: www.romefestival.org). Along with performing these three roles, I will have access to coachings, master classes, and voice lessons. The program is from June 14th-July 7th along with immersion into the Italian language and culture.

For those who do not know me personally, I recently graduated with a Master's of Music in Voice Performance from the University of Minnesota Duluth.  While I was a student I was involved with the Opera Program, I performed the roles of Dorabella in Mozart's Così fan tutte, and Hansel in Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel under the direction of Dr. Regina Zona. I was also involved in Opera Scenes, performing the roles of Romeo in I Capuleti e I Montecchi, Isabella in L'Italiana in Algieri, Idamante in Idomeneo, Meg March in Little Women, and Meg Page in Falstaff. Since graduating I have performed the role Pitti-Sing in The Mikado with Lyric Opera of the North, and was a guest soloist with the Duluth Superior Youth Orchestra Lollipop concert. Being able to perform these roles and have the opportunity to grasp these beautiful languages first hand would be an benefit to my career as a singer and emerging artist.

I was offered a $1400 professional grant and a $1600 work-study grant from the Rome Opera Festival. I feel honored with their generosity and am thankful they believe in my abilities to be a part of their programs.  Unfortunately, because of school debt and needing to provide for my daughter, these opportunities still cost more money than I would be able to afford on my own. Below is the listing of monies I still need to pay. This will all be very difficult to do without your kind and generous charity.  Everything I raise will go to the following:

$3,500 will go towards the program cost at the Rome Festival

$2,500 will go towards transportation to get to and around Italy

Anything that you can donate would be so incredibly generous!  If you have any questions for me about what I do or what this is for please contact me!
