My name is John Tanner. I am 52 years old. I have been a professional bass fishing guide on Lake Fork TX for close to 20 years. I also fished professionally on one of the pro bass tours (FLW Tour)all over the country. God has allowed me to use my fishing as a platform for years to tell people about the saving grace of the Lord Jesus Christ.

I have since retired from the bass tournament scene as God has called me into ministry on another level. I have been attending seminary at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth Texas for a few years now. I am currently working on my Masters Degree (M.A.C.E) and have completed half of my required classes for this degree. Most of my classes are on Mondays. I am still a self employed fishing guide, so I head to campus on Mondays, and work the rest of the week on the lake when I have trips. I also preach at revival meetings, mens events and pulpit supply.


The funds raised will be used for my tuition, books, and campus fees,  at seminary for the upcoming fall semester. The fall semester starts next month around the 25th of August and tuition will be due before I can start the classes that I have registered for. Many of you have donated in the past, and for that my family and I are very greatful.
