for those of you that don’t know my dad that well… he’s stubborn, he can be a butthead, he can anger quick. But most of all he has a heart of gold. He will be the first person to give you the shirt off of his back.

On Monday, he had a very severe heart attack. He had to be life lighted to Riverside from Berger. We were told the right side of his heart has been completely blocked for a long time, and the heart attack made the left side of his heart completely fail. The aftermath of all of that is that now both sides don’t have any function. They put him on life support, however he was bleeding to death from his groin. They had no choice but to remove the life support and hope that he could survive on 2 different heart pumps long enough for his heart to gain a little bit of function back. As of now, it hasn’t regained any function back yet but we still have hope. Today (Friday) we were told he has a GI bleed. Again, he’s starting to bleed fast, and there’s not much they can do. We have prepared for the worst several times and he keeps defying all odds. This is just the start of a very long road. If he can survive and regain a little bit of heart function, he will more than likely have a permanent heart pump (LVAD) until he’s eligible for a heart transplant.

he doesn’t have the best medical insurance and my mom can only take off so much time at work. He was in the process of starting his own business which will be put on hold for a long time. My mom is stressed and going through the worst time of her life. Any bit of donations will go to her to help with bills and travels expenses to/from the hospital.
