Camping across the country to NYC

My husband, Craig, and I are moving to NYC so that I can attend Columbia University for graduate school. I applied with high hopes, but very low expectations. When I received my acceptance email, I literally cried for joy and then wondered: "How the hell are we going to make this work?"
I am a special education teacher, and my husband quit his behavioral health job last fall in order to start a non-profit. There could not be worse timing. Of course, I probably should have waited a year to apply for grad school, but when you are passionate about something, it's hard to wait. Plus, I really never thought I had a chance of going to Columbia!
So here we are, moving from Tucson to New York City with very little in savings. We were lucky enough to secure a house-sitting gig for the first part of the summer in Tucson, but can't move in to our NYC student housing until Aug. 31. So come the end of July, we will be taking a month long road-trip across the country. We are mostly going to be camping in a tent with our bulldog mix, Domino.
We need your help! Even $5 would make a big difference. Your donation will help us pay for gas, food, and campsites (with an occasional motel).
What do you get out of it? First off all, our undying gratitude. But you can also read about our travels on my blog . I'll be updating as much as possible when we splurge on a coffee or beer in a place with internet access. :) The more you donate, the more coffees and beers and blog posts!
Plus, I'm a terrible writer when I'm stressed about money. So if you want some GOOD posts, I need your help!
We are leaving on July 25, so don't delay - donate today! Any extra funds raised will go towards our first month's rent and expenses in New York City.
