Last week, our dear friend Emily Barricklow received news that no parent ever wants to hear: her four year old son, Louie, had been diagnosed with cancer. Testing revealed a Wilm’s tumor in Louie’s right kidney, as well as a few small nodules on his lungs. He immediately began a 6 week round of chemotherapy, which will be followed by surgery to remove the tumor/kidney, then he will receive additional chemo and radiation. The entire course of treatment is estimated to take a minimum of 6 months to complete.

Emily was a longtime employee of Perino’s Garden Center and is a hard working mother to two adorable sons, Louie and Elliot. Our goal is to ease the financial stress that a diagnosis like this can cause. Over the next six months Emily will have many out of pocket expenses related to treatment, and she will undoubtedly have to take time off of work to care for Louie. We want Emily to be able to fully focus on Louie’s recovery without worry about finances. Please help us show Emily that she is not alone in this. Any contribution is greatly appreciated.
