Nadia was born on May 26, 2015 a very happy healthy baby girl. A few weeks after she was born, we noticed that when she would drink that she would start coughing. We took her to the doctor and they thought she had acid reflux. We were put on some meds for over 3 months but she never got better. Her doctor sent her to a Pulmonologist. They did lots of tests and did a scope. That's when they found a Vasacular Ring. We were sent to Iowa City Children's Hospital where they did the surgery to try to fix it. Well the surgery didn't work. On July 5th we went back and talked to all the surgeon's and they said Nadia's case is one of the most rare heart defect they have ever seen. Nadia is 13th case in the WORLD with this heart defect. So far she has had 2 heart surgeries, lots of Scopes done, a G-Tube. This will not be her last surgery.
