Mike's Leukemia Battle

Hello. My name is Mike. I have worked as a Clinical Social Worker for 35 years. I have done my best to help many folks with depression and other mental health issues over the years. Most recently, I worked with Active Duty military men and women, supporting them through difficult times. I hope to return to this fulfulling work as soon as I can.
In early November, I got a call from my doctor telling me to immediately go to the ER after getting routine bloodwork done. I wound up in the hospital for 7 weeks. I am happy to say that although I have a long road ahead, my treatment is going as planned. I just had a bone marrow transplant and was fortunate to receive the transplant cells from my sister!
I hope to be home soon, and I do have a long way to go. My patient portal with the Mayo Clinic just had 72 appointments added to my calendar over the naxt 3 months or so. During this time, I am in need of 24x7 caregivers who will help me at home and get me to all of the appointments.
My work as a Clinical Social Worker over the years has given me the opportunity to help so many people during difficult times. My diagnosis so far has provided me with a new perspective and understanding of what it's like to experience these difficult times. I look forward to returning to my work. Right now I just need a little help.
Thanks for taking time to read this.
