My beautiful friend Lori Kaufman Henkemeyer was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer in March 2021. Everyone who knows her is devastated by this news. I met Lori when she was in sixth grade and we have been friends since. For those of you who don’t know Lori well, let me explain to you what a beautiful person she is. Lori is the first person who is there to help you anyway she can. She would give you the shirt off her back if that is what you needed. She has been there for me in my trying times and also so many others. When people describe Lori the first thing they tell me is how kind and sweet she is. Lori and her husband are always helping those less fortunate than them and never want any recognition. I know she will probably get mad at me for telling you this but I wanted you to know what kind of people Lori and Joe are.
Cancer treatment is very costly and copays can be astronomical. I would like to try and help Lori and Joe by raising money to help lessen the financial burden during this time. 100% of the money raised will only be used for Lori’s medical copays. If there is any money left over, Joe and Lori plan to donate it to Team Up Against Cancer (https://teamupagainstcancer.com/).
This is a wonderful organization who pairs cancer patients with cancer survivors to provide support to those who have little to no support. Lori feels very passionate about this, as she cannot imagine going through this alone.
I will be eternally grateful to anyone who donates. I know Lori and Joe will be beyond grateful to anyone who helps out.
