Jordan’s College Books and Supplies

Hi everyone! For the past five years, I have been lucky enough to mentor Jordan through Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City. I have watched her grow from a timid young middle schooler, to an independent and strong young lady. She has really become family to me. As a student, Jordan has truly paved the way to all of her success. Not only did she navigate a high school experience filled with obstacles, she dedicated her entire summer for the past four years learning in the College Bound Program so she would be prepared for higher education. While many of her classmates were worrying about typical high school woes, Jordan was continuing to knock down barricades to keep her dreams alive. She is going to be the first person in her family to leave high school and attend college. It is my hope to be able to help her with her college books and supplies throughout her degree.  If there is anyway you can help, she will be more than grateful. She hopes to pave the way for other young black females to follow in her footsteps on achieving higher education. I know that whatever she strives for, she will achieve. I am so proud. John Jay College is lucky to have her!
