Street Vendor Assaulted and Shot

Donation protected
Hi everyone, I am raising money for my uncle. Yesterday, April 30, 2021 at around 8:30 pm, my uncle José Luis was working as usual, he’s an elotero.  A white male approached him. My uncle thought he just wanted to buy from him but instead he asked him for all the money he had. My uncle refused because he worked so hard for his money which helps him provide for his 4 kids and wife.  After refusing the guy took out a gun. My uncles reaction was to throw a bottle he had in his cart at the guy. The guy shot him in the stomach which through his body. He instantly fell to the ground. He did see 4 other african american men got in a car with the guy and fled from the scene. Unfortunately, the cops have not held anyone responsible although my uncle recognized the white male after the cops showed him a picture. He was rushed to the hospital and got an emergency surgery. They got the bullet out and he is now recovering. He is very weak, he can barely talk, and the doctors still don’t give us much more information. He’s an kind, super hard working, and is the light of the room! We would appreciate any  donations to help his family with rent and expenses since he won’t be able to work for a while. Thank you, God bless!!!!
