Some of you may already know, that I have overcome a lot in my journey as a harpist, leaving an abusive marriage, dealing with eyesight loss and moving countries. I am studying psychology and music theory as well as classical harp, all self funded, in order to one day teach. I am struggling as an unsupported single blind person. Last year I also came out as trans and have started testosterone hormone therapy ️‍♂️️‍

As a trans man, there is nothing more dysphoric than one's own body. Binding the chest to create a more masculine appearance is painful and detrimental to one's posture; especially as a harpist. If you've noticed a lack of harp practice streams over on Twitch, it's because I cannot bear to be without the binder, but also am in pain when I practice and play.

My parents are incredibly transphobic, and as some of you know, I moved to live near them as they promised to be my support network when I left my violent husband. It's important for legally blind people like myself to have support. There are many things I cannot do without assistance. Unfortunately they have backtracked on many things including taking me and the harp to events or rehearsals. I really am quite alone in this isolated country village. It's been incredibly hard on my mental health, and I put off transitioning for a while. I was frightened of the backlash.

Please help me to raise money towards top surgery.

It is much cheaper in Turkey than in the UK. It costs around £4000 British pounds and includes flights, surgical fees and post-operative care. In the UK, it costs upwards of £9000. Crazy right?

This surgery will allow me to be my authentic self and continue my journey of studying, playing and inspiring others with the harp.

No more binders, tape or agonizing pains, just sweet sweet harp music and progress towards being a contributing member of society.
