We are setting this medical fund up as our daughter is entering her 4th week battling post COVID blood clots that caused a deadly blood infection. We have family and the excellent team of specialists at The Mayo Clinic to thank for saving Summer Kai's life. She had an 8 day stay at the Mayo Clinic where we learned she has 2 holes in her left lung, 4 blood clots in her right lung, a thrombus threatening to pass through an existing hole in her heart and was septic. She had 4 procedures the first 3 days at the Mayo Clinic to stabilize her. The Mayo Clinic stay, surgeries, pharmaceuticals, weekly travel back to appointments and home health visitis has put a large financial strain on our family. Summer Kai is currently juggling a midline with a pump giving her antibiotics 24/7 and a large dose of blood thinners for several more weeks and 2 more procedures already scheduled.
