I am a Jamaican living in the diaspora. My family and community are deeply affected by Hurricane Melissa. My community is vibrant and full of life, always striving toward growth and infrastructural development. But Hurricane Melissa has set us back in devastating ways. My family’s home was destroyed, and many of our neighbors’ houses were severely damaged.

Right now, people are without clean water, electricity, and basic household necessities. Many bridges have been closed off, making it extremely difficult to travel from one community to another or to access essential supplies.
