I’m one of Jess’s long time best friends and I’ve created this GFM to help her with Joey’s vet bill.
Joey has an obstruction in his bowel/intestine from eating a Himalayan dog chew. He’s currently at the vet receiving care but his vet bill is already at $1400 to stay overnight and he may need surgery. Read what happened below from Jess’s FB:
“I just wanna tell people so they’re aware of this type of dog chew! Joey had one last night after work and has had severe vomiting. Jamison half the other half and is fine. Lethargic all day, won’t eat or drink and very weak. Himalayan Dog chews are hardened cheese from yaks milk and while chewing they can split and are very sharp. They cause bowl / intestinal blockage and if it becomes that bad which might be the possibility with Joey than surgery is the only fix. If not the sharp piece can penetrate the intestine and become sepses. He’s drinking a little on his own. But sleeping a lot and stands with his spine arched and legs tense. Clearly having stomach issues. The reviews are positive when looking but after digging I found a lot of cases where Labradors are particularly the ones I saw that had this issue. Also some can be lactose to yaks milk etc ... anyways I wanted to warn people because everyone I know have fur babies and they’re family !!! This guys my son and it’s very scary! Cross your fingers and hopefully he will be ok!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️“
I know Jess has a lot of friends and can help her dog-son live! Let’s do this!
