Jordan's Road to Recovery
Donation protected
As many of you know, Jordan suffered a stroke back in April of this year. As a shock to herself, it was confirmed by neurologists that she was born with a Cavernous Malformation (cluster of blood vessels) in her brain that suddenly started bleeding, causing the stroke.
Since then, she has been dealing with seizures, vision trouble, and facial dystonia. She is taking quite a bit of medications to help with the seizures and other post-stroke symptoms, causing extreme drowsiness and making it impossible for her to work, drive, or be the primary caregiver to her two girls (2yrs old and 8 months old). As much as Jordan would love to be able to care for her girls on her own, the neurologist wants Jordan to relax and rest as much as possible; therefore, Jake and Jordan have hired a nanny to care for the girls while Jake is at work. God is so good, and they have found a nanny they love and trust.
After being seen by neurologists in Tulsa, it has been recommended that Jordan seek treatment in Dallas with a well-known neurosurgeon who is experienced with Cavernous Malformations. After a lot of prayer and patience, Jordan was recently accepted by the Dallas neurosurgeon for evaluation. This is great news! As you can imagine, the medical bills are stacking up, and will only increase as Jordan travels to Dallas for further treatment.
There are a lot of unknowns as far as the future goes; Jordan is building up tolerance to the medications, making her seizures more frequent. There is talk of doing brain surgery; however, the location of the vessels make surgery a risky option and a last resort.
Jordan was very hesitant to let me set this up. I know there have been many people asking for ways to help the Butlers financially, and this is a great way for everyone to come together to help with medical bills, travel expenses, and childcare. Whether or not you are able to give financially, I ask that you continue to pray for Jordan's recovery, and future treatment options. Pray that Jake and Jordan remain strong, and continue to trust in the Lord, the ultimate Healer.
