Sweet Angel, Abigail Rose
Donation protected
This sweet Angel, Abigail Rose, entered this world on December 8, 2018 and gained her angel wings on April 26, 2021. Abigail touched so many lives in her short two years. She was a joy to all who met her, and her smile touched the hearts of everyone she met. She was pure love and affection.
Abigail’s life has been a true testament to the strength that little ones can show. Her story began well before she was born. Abigail and her twin sister, Anastasia, have both been fighters from the beginning. Early on doctors found that the girls had twin to twin transfusion syndrome(meaning the twins were sharing one placenta). Surgery was performed on the placenta while the girls were still in the womb. They were born prematurely at 24 weeks. Abigail was in the NICU for 7 months and Anastasia was in the NICU for 5 months. During Abigail’s NICU stay she underwent many surgeries, procedures, and therapies. A few of the many obstacles she endured were an ostomy, bowel resection, feeding tube, and a PDA ligation. Around her actual due date Abigail was diagnosed with periventricular leukomalacia (PVL). Along with all of that, she had no immune system. She was in and out of the hospital for most of her life. She was forced to fight off pneumonia many times causing too much damage and too much for her little body to handle.
Abigail is sadly missed by her mother, father, twin sister, grandparents, and all who were blessed to know her. Abigail's family wishes to acknowledge and thank the amazing staff at Children's Hospital, A Child's Wish of New Orleans, Savannah Smiles Foundation, The Bright School, and Nola's Little Miracles. All of these nonprofits helped in aiding the family in many different ways by showing their love and compassion.
The family has endured many unforeseen expenses and can use some help in covering the funeral costs. If funds exceed the funeral costs, donations will be given to the organizations previously mentioned. Abigail’s family would like to thank everyone for taking the time to read her story and showing support during this difficult time.
