Rebecca Ilodibia is a Lawyer, and the mother of four beautiful kids.
In 2011 Rebecca was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her husband and relatives went through thick and thin to raise the $70,000 required for her surgery and treatment. In June 2012, having spent 6 months undergoing treatment, she was given a clean bill of health and was declared free of the illness, much to the joy of her family and friends.
Unfortunately, following routine medical checkup and extensive tests, she was diagnosed with a relapse of her cancer in June 2016. The tests and biopsy carried out on her showed that she had the same type of cancer, but this time she has a tumor in her right lung and shows some malignant activity in the chest area as well as in the liver.
Rebecca’s case is urgent if she is to survive this relapse. After extensive consultation with medical advisers, she and her family have settled on an option that holds considerable promise for her full recovery. She needs to proceed for further treatment. The minimum cost of her immediate treatment will be $51,500. This will include a 28-day stay in hospital. In addition, an estimate of additional cost for logistics and ongoing follow-up will bring the total bill to about $70,000.
Rebecca’s family, already stretched with debt from her first treatment in 2012, is humbly soliciting financial assistance so that she can get the required treatment before her situation becomes irreversible. Unfortunately, Rebecca’s health insurance will not cover this treatment option, as it is outside the US.
In time, if she survives this relapse, Rebecca will formalize the support work that she already does informally for other cancer patients. Please help Rebecca by donating towards her treatment.
