Hi everyone! I’m trying to raise some money to help the cost of applying to dental school and figuring out housing plans for the fall while I start my postbac. I’m currently unemployed after I lost my job due to COVID and money has been a little tight. I appreciate any amount donated that will help me to reach my goals of becoming a dentist.
For those who don’t know me:
My name is Carla. I got my high school diploma at 14 years old. I started college at Houston Community College before I transferred to Southwestern College in San Diego after I moved to the area. I spent the first 3 years there living in Mexico crossing the border for classes each day. Eventually, I moved to San Diego and finished my Associates of Science in Biology. I then transferred to University of California Davis where I finished my Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. After I graduated, I worked in a plant sciences lab doing research while I tried to get my finances in order. Eventually, I was able to pay to take the Dental Admissions Test (DAT) and I took it last August. But since then I have lost my job and have been unemployed. I’m still dedicated to applying to dental school and doing whatever it takes to get there. Thank you for being apart of my journey.
