Steve Fuchs’ Medical Bill Assistance

On the morning of  April 6th, 2021 Steve was experiencing a major headache.  He had been to the doctors previously and was diagnosed with allergies but, even though he had been on the medication to relieve his headaches for several weeks, this headache took out the man we all know refuses to use his sick days when he is actually sick.  

He agreed to visit the emergency department and was given several scans that revealed a mass in his brain.  He was promptly transferred to Rochester General and admitted for further testing that revealed a very aggressive tumor in his frontal lobe.  He was scheduled for brain surgery at 7:30 am Friday April 9th and the neurosurgeon reported he was able to remove the vast majority of the tumor.

Steve was discharged from the hospital on Monday April 12th and has been resting at home. However, the blows just keep on coming.  On Friday April 17th Steve received the pathology results from the tumor and was diagnosed with a grade 4 glioblastoma. 

As Steve and his family deal with this diagnosis, the medical bills are starting to come in and are much higher than anticipated.

To learn that Glioblastomas are one of the most aggressive cancers out there with limited treatment options that are not curable  was the most devastating news they’ve ever dealt with in their lives. My heart broke for them. 

Steve is remaining grateful and positive. They’re grateful for every single day and every single moment they get to be together and they’ve decided that they’re going to be strong and fight this battle as a family. They have hope that they can fight this and will do whatever it takes to be a family for as long as they can. We are now reaching out to everyone to help them achieve this, by helping fund treatment. Your contribution, no matter how big or small will go towards immunotherapy treatments for Steve with the hope that they can get more time together as a family.
