Mike Cavallo's Medical Fund

Hi all.  My name is Diane Koslosky.  When you know me, you also know my best friend, Diane Ricciardi-Cavallo.  We have been through it all as a team.  Then she brought one of the greatest guys into our little circle.  Mike Cavallo.  And now, I have gained an extended brother, and my kids have an extra Uncle.  

Mike has been there for me and my children for as long as I can remember.  There is nothing he will not do for his family and friends.  Even if you are a friend of a friend.  He will be there, no matter what time of day, he will be there.

Then 5 years ago, life had a different plan.  Mike was diagnosed with intestinal cancer.  He went through surgery after surgery.  Was put into an induced coma, lost 12 feet of bowel, and his loving wife was told 3 different times he would not make it through the night.  He fought.  But with love from family and friends, he fought harder.

It has been a long 5 years, in and out of the hospital with infections, dehydration, but was on the road to recovery, a slow road, but was winning the battle.  

Just recently, he got an infection in his intestines and is now fighting another battle.  His weight has dropped drastically, and in the past month, has spent only 3 nights home before having to be rushed back to the hospital.  

This has taken a toll on Mike and Diane.  He is now on home TPN (total protein nutrition) which provides nutrients to his body that he can no longer hold without this help.  

With out adding more of the medical details, the costs for all this has taken a major toll on the family.  The prescriptions, copays, the nursing fee, you can only imagine.  

I am starting this fund to help them over this hump.  Diane & Michael are always giving and doing for others, I am asking if you can help them now.  They need our help right now.  

No amount is to small.  Let's show Mike how all his South Philly crew can come together (13th & Tasker forever) and let's show Diane our Southwest Philly Pride.  We will come together and all help Mike get back on the right course!
