Megan’s Hope for Medical Change and After
Even a fighter gets tired. I was diagnosed at 14 with a rare genetic mutation called Familial Hyperphosphatemic Tumoral Calcinosis; it is degenerative and the only other disease that metastasizes like cancer. Sooner or later it attacks vital organs. I am now 30 and my health slowly deteriorated due to genetics, lack of finances, transportation, and support. Now I have osteoporosis, osteoarthrosis, osteoarthritis, neuropathy, calcification of the spine and muscles, internal organs and blood stream, and extreme chronic pain. There are tumors in my left and right hips, both hamstrings, and my right elbow. My gallbladder is calcified so i cannot hold down food and am currently 94 pounds. In addition, Tumoral calcinosis affects the anatomy of one's teeth. I was born with little enamel, no roots, and calcified nerves: because of this my teeth are brittle, lose, and falling out. My only chance to have a full set are implantsbecause dentures would erode the jawbone.
All that life has ever thrown at me and I've always fought. I'm asking for help in this fight because I am tired and desperate for change! Your donations will greatly assist me with medical care such as equipment, bills, implants, and supplement plans, pre and post-surgical care, as well as a transportation , housing, and childcare. Any donations at this time of fragility would be a blessing. Every little bit helps.
