Greetings,
My name is Miguel Bosque. On Tuesday June 28th my mother Gloria Martinez was diagnosed with stage III pancreatic cancer. My mother is only 58yo. Currently, this is one of deadliest forms of cancer. The reason for this is because it usually doesn't show any symptoms until it's too late. Luckily enough we don't see any evidence of the cancer spreading to other organs, however her situation is still very delicate. Her treatment will require months of chemotherapy to reduce the size of the tumor, with the hope of extraction of the tumor in the end.
As you may know, the medical bills will be extremely costly. It is our hope that we can reach as many people as possible to help my mother in her time of greatest need. My mother has always been a strong and independent person. She virtually raised her three children on her own. She has made countless sacrifices for her loved ones. She has also helped many other people along the years. She has even taken people into her home, and never asked for anything in return. From a young age the cards have always been stacked against her. She was pulled out of school so that she could help out at home even though her greatest dream was to go to college. Despite her odds she managed to move her children out of Puerto Rico in pursuit of a better life in Chicago. Since then, she has worked very hard in pursuit of the American Dream. She has even worked 3 jobs at a time while only sleeping about 2-3 hours a day in her car, between shifts. She has also cleaned homes on the side for extra income. At one point she regularly cleaned 14 homes on top of working a full-time job. Her hard work has paid off in many ways. For example, just a couple of years ago she managed to buy her own home. This was one of the happiest moments in her life.
This whole situation has been very hard on my mother. Not only does she have to deal with cancer, but she is seriously concerned as to how she can pay for her costly medical bills and her mortgage. We are asking family, friends, the general public, as well as all the people that she has helped out during the years to please help her in her time of greatest need.
