AND LUCKY TO BE ALIVE......My son Brandon Keil and his friend, Dakota Lefevre, packed up Brandon's van with 2 motorcycles and lots of other equipment to head to California for an enjoyable spring break of motorcycle riding in the California sunshine.  Both boys are currently attending college at Dunwoody College in Minneapolis.  I got “THE” 3:30am phone call from Arizona Highway Patrol that they had been in a rollover accident that involved a semi and a drunk driver. THANK GOD .....the boys were extremely fortunate to come out with bruises, soreness and scrapes. As they crawled out of the van, laying on its side, after completely rolling they noticed that the drunk driver that hit the semi head on was in his car that was on fire. Brandon and his friend, Dakota, went into action and pulled the unconscious drunk guy from his burning vehicle and saved the life of someone who had almost taken their lives.....those two boys are heroes..... Both vehicles burnt to the ground and they walked away with their bloody clothes on their backs, that’s it. No ID, no cell phone, no wallet, no $$, no family, no friends, not a thing, in the middle of Arizona. Such an extremely unfortunate situation, but they are here to talk about it and that’s all that matters. THANK GOD

The boys finally made it to California in a whole different frame of mind, not much of a vacation will it end up being.  We have a lot of details to sort out and lots of expenses to get the boys their losses recouped.  There was only liability on the van, so that is a total loss.  There is a total of $2000 deductible for the insurance policies that will be in place to cover only one motorcycle and liability only on the van.  Both boys are assuming an extensive amount of losses.  As they left straight from school on Friday.  Both boys had their school laptops, school books, motorcycle apparel, helmets, battery chargers, a Nikon camera, a GoPro camera, doctor bills, airfare back to Minnesota, LOTS of expensive tools with toolbox, all clothing (their best outfits for vacation), the second motorcycle will not be covered at all, prescription glasses, eye contacts, colognes, ID’s, wallets, vacation cash, cell phones, just to name some of the items.....They spent Sunday evening, 13 hours, on a bus from Flagstaff Arizona to Los Angeles then they spent 7 hours yesterday in the emergency room getting checked out.  We are going to try to make the best of the next couple days.  The boys have been extremely down the last two days thinking about all of their personal losses, anything to help them get back what they have lost would be greatly appreciated.
