Help Alex Fight Cancer!
Alex Santiago is a life-loving 18-year old who graduated from Tippy Valley HS in 2020. A month ago, Alex went to the doctor because he wasn’t feeling well and couldn’t breathe. The doctor gave him a few inhalers and sent him on his way. On Tuesday, April 20, Alex found himself in the ER because he had just gotten worse and worse. It was there at the ER that they found Alex had a very low blood count. The rest of his tests were not good either. They transferred him to Lutheran in Fort Wayne. From there, they did a battery of tests to figure out why such a young person was in such a bad way. Turns out, Alex has Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia. He is also fighting infections in several parts of his body. Before going to war with the cancer, the infections need to fought first. To get better care, Alex was transferred via helicopter to Riley Children’s Hospital. He is currently on a ventilator as they are figuring the best course of action for his treatment.
Alex and his family have a very long road ahead for them. Traveling expenses are just the beginning. Any and all funds raised for Alex and his family will be used towards traveling expenses, food, lodging, and medical bills. Please share if you cannot donate. Continue to pray for Alex and his family. They need all the support they can get.
