Hi, this is Eric Stuart of The Eric Stuart Band.
We recently found out that one of our founding members, and my dear friend of 20 plus years, ESB lead guitarist Phil Nix, has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. There is a high success rate in the treatment of this type of cancer but the battle is still going to be a tough one.
I first met Phil through music but over time he has become one of my closest friends. He is like a brother to me. The harsh reality is Phil’s medical costs will be astronomical. As a freelancer, even with decent health care, this burden will be too much for him to face alone.
The majority of these funds will be used for Phil's medical costs, a small portion will be set aside so that Phil can travel and join in the recording of the next Eric Stuart Band album in Nashville. We want to give him some spiritual medicine too. Playing music is something he loves and I know it will keep him focused on good things during this difficult fight. We will also donate a portion of the proceeds from the new album to Phil as well.
