Dan Craft's Medical Care

We have kept things pretty quiet regarding my dad’s illness until now, and have been dealing with it as a family the best we can, however, as the days go on, so does the seriousness of the situation. My dad, Dan Craft, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in August of 2015, and although he underwent a successful surgery at that time, more cancer was found three weeks ago mainly in his liver, but also in his left kidney and lymph nodes around the liver area. Up until approximately 3 months ago, my dad was energetic, living by himself, substitute teaching almost every day here in Texas, playing golf with my brother, bike riding, taking his dog/best friend for daily walk/runs, and looking forward to a summer road trip to FL and OH. Since his most recent diagnosis, he has been hospitalized twice, lost a lot of strength, has had to move in with me and my family, and become dependent on our care around the clock, with me being his primary caregiver. Although this is an extremely serious health situation for him, he remains positive, as we all do, and fights through every single day. He is scheduled to begin chemotherapy on Tuesday, July 5th. The doctors have said the multiple tumors in his liver are not removable, and a transplant is not an option. At this point, our prayer is that chemo will shrink the tumors enough to give him some strength and energy back, and help him to keep living for as long as God says so. We as a family ask that you please keep him, and us, in your thoughts and prayers as we all go through this very hard journey. We are truly grateful for all of those who will pray and support him and our family, as we know what an important person and pillar in our community of Northeast OH my dad was and is, and the countless lives he has touched in his 64 years of life.
