Mom has now gone home with her parents

Update: Mom passed away on July 21st 2024 peacefully in her sleep at home with family. During her last couple of months, we were able to share many more memories that I will treasure for a lifetime.

Mom and I both had been planning on her being here long term and we were focused on getting her better. Her body had other plans.

The generous donations we received through this allowed for our basic bills to be covered during the time she was here. For that, we will both be eternally grateful.

Caring for her quickly became more difficult than either of us had imagined, but I would not have wanted it any other way. My Mom never wanted to be in a nursing home. She wanted to be with family. We were able to do that. We gave my Mom was she wanted and I did my best to give her the best care every day I had her here.

Mom's coming home in the next few days and I will not be able to work other than taking care of her. She has had an incredibly hard time the past couple of months in hospitals, rehab centers, and skilled nursing centers and she just wants to be home. I have been doing everything I can to support us every way under the sun the past 2 1/2 years but Mom needs me more than anything right now. To be honest, I don't know how much time I have left with her.

I am embarrassed and hurt that I am even having to do this. I am on my own without additional assistance but the reality is the bills still need to be paid. I am praying for donations of $10,000 to cover the next two months of our bills. Anything beyond that is just more blessing of time that I have with my Mom. I am doing everything I can to honor my mother's wishes and give her the love and attention she deserves.
