In Honor of Rick Getchell ‘s Life.

Rick Getchell was more than a carpenter, a fisherman, and a hunter. First and foremost he was; a son, a brother, a husband, a father, an uncle, a grandfather, and a friend. Naturally, he was an amazing provider for those he loved, and will be sorely missed.  My name is Brittany Haskell, and I am the girlfriend of Rick and Pam Getchell’s son, Cody, and I am also close to the entire Getchell family. I thought it was necessary to reach out to other close friends and family members during this difficult time.

If Rick would have verbalized any final wishes, he would have wanted to know one thing- that his wife of nearly 40 years was going to be okay... If anyone reading this has the privilege of knowing Pam, then you already know that she is often too modest for her own good. Rick’s unexpected and untimely death has been hectic, exhausting, and exceptionally overwhelming for Pam, and the entire Getchell family.

The grief we are currently experiencing is taking an enormous emotional, mental, and physical toll on all of us. Since Rick’s passing, the last week has felt like a blur- almost as if we are only now coming to terms with the realization that our “normal” lives have disappeared, and have been replaced by the ever-present pain, sorrow, and tears... 

I want to make sure that first and foremost, no one reading this feels any pressure because that is definitely not my intention. My goal in starting this “Go Fund Me” is to help ease the burden that goes along with losing a loved one. Many of you may not know that the house Rick and Pam have been living in, was just recently sold, and the new owners plan on   taking possession the first of the month. Rick was able to take a couple loads to storage while Pam was searching for them a new place to live. Unfortunately, Rick’s unexpected passing has now left Pam with even more stress, and heartache while trying to process this painful reality.  Those of you that know Pam, know how incredibly strong of a woman she is, and that she herself will NEVER ask for any help. That is my reason for sharing this with all of you. Any donations you are able to give to Pam Getchell, and her family will be sincerely appreciated, and will help with putting Rick to Rest In Peace, as well as with all the extra expenses she is dealing with finding a new place to live and moving. She does not need or deserve to worry about all this, and I know Rick would not want her to have to deal with all of this on her own.
