Jolie's Medical Alert Dog
Donation protected
Hello Friends,
I have put together this campaign to help Jolie Jones raise the money needed for a Diabetic Alert Dog.
These dogs, because of their training are very expensive and for some reason are not covered by health insurance programs.
Jolie has Type I (Juvenile) Diabetes. She was diagnosed at the age of nine and has managed her situation quite well for most of her life. I know that often times, as friends and family you do not see Jolie struggle with the highs and lows but they do effect her life tremendously. As she approachs her 33rd birthday, it has become apparent that she needs help managing her blood sugar. If it gets too high and she can not bring it down, she could have organ failure. If it gets too low she could slip into a coma. Imagine what that is like for a moment; you go to sleep at night and hope that you wake up if your blood sugar spikes or drops suddenly. This is her reason for wanting an alert dog. So if she is at work, school, or asleep there is someone else to help keep her in the normal levels since the dog will alert before she gets into a danger zone.
I am hopeful that together we can raise the funds to start making payments and get Jolie her Alert Dog before her birthday in November since it will take anywhere from 2-8 months after a down payment ($2500) for Jolie to recieve her dog.
Any donation, including good wishes and extra shares, are appreciated.
