Recently, the Plainfield East community lost an amazing person. Scott McBride was a glowing light to his community and to anyone that had the fortune to meet him. He was a man who truly put others before himself. Scott was a man who found pure happiness in the well-being of the people around him. Playing underneath Coach McBride was one of the best experiences of my life and I know a lot of his other past players can say the same. He did everything in his power as a coach to keep his players happy, healthy, and continuing to work hard and progress in their game. Scott was an amazing coach, but an even better person outside of the court. As a part of the Plainfield East Staff, he put smiles on every student’s face. Every student knew who Scott was, but that was no coincidence. This was because he made effort to talk to as many students as he could. He made an effort to help brighten every student’s day whether he was just saying ‘what’s up’ or cracking jokes. He was an amazing friend to all, brilliant coach to some, and even further, an admirable mentor. As one of his players, students, and as one of his friends, I can proudly say I would not be the person I am today without Scott McBride’s influence. Help us help the family through this troubled time. Donations will go to the memorial/ service for the life of Scott McBride. My name is Nicholas Smoldt, I was a student/player underneath Scott McBride and in communication with the McBride family I was authorized to withdraw the money and give it to the family to help pay for and cover the memorial expenses for the life of Scott McBride.
