I'm Brandon Mitchell and I'm humbly requesting the help of my peers, family, and the wider community to reach the end of my long undergraduate journey. I'm less than two full time semesters away from the finish line, but I need your support to make it the rest of the way.
My single parent, working class background has made independent funding of my education nearly impossible, and my struggles with homelessness and poverty, along with my career as a vocalist--singer/emcee: (https://plus.google.com/u/0/collection/k2DwQB) , ( https://www.facebook.com/therealkadence/ )and my work as an activist involved in the Occupy movement in Wayne and Washtenaw counties, anti-rape and anti-privatization of public education campaigns on Eastern Michigan campus as well as some legal defense fundraising for a whistle-blower (Chelsea Manning)--has prolonged my journey to the undergraduate finish line considerably.
What I'm asking for is the needed amount to cover my remaining tuition and supply costs at EMU. This is no small favor in my eyes, this is actually a major turning point in my struggle for a decent quality of life, and it will mean the lifting of the last major barrier on my path to graduate school. I've made it this far, but I need all of your help to reach my goal. Please stand with me, and help me to move along the path I must travel in order to put my skills to work on the (moral and material) problems facing humanity today.
